Satyam Computer Signs Deal With Nissan
Opens dedicated Chennai centre
Chennai:
Satyam Computer services Ltd., an IT consulting and services provider, has signed a five-year deal to maintain, support and enhance the application portfolio for Nissan North America. Nissan is the second largest in the world with revenue of $80 billion.
The deal encompasses an application portfolio spanning multiple business functions, plants, locations and business units. Nissan has selected Satyam to manage all its mission critical business application in its key North American market.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Subu D Subramanian, Director and Senior Vice-President, Satyam Manufacturing and Automotive business, said this multi-year deal further consolidated Satyam's leadership position as an end-to-end solutions provider to global automotive customers.
Satyam had been chosen as the sole partner for Japan and Europe for Nissan's North American application portfolio in a multi-year turnkey commitment.
Satyam would be recruiting 350 consultants for the Nissan project and the company had inaugurated a global development centre for Nissan at the IT corridor in Chennai.
The centre would come up on a two-lakh sq. ft. Of which satyam would provide 50,000 sq. ft.for Nissan as a dedicated centre.

The balance would be used for other projects such as General Motors, Sony, Ford, Unilever, Nestle, GE and Dupont.
The co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company, B.Rama Raju, Who inaugurated the Nissan's dedicated centre at the IT corridor here, said the company would soon take up the first phase of construction work on the 50 acres purchased on Old Mahabalipuram Road for setting up its campus.
The first phase would involve an investment of Rs.30 crore and would be completed by next year. It would have nearly 3,000 employees.
